A society based in Ashton-under-Lyne that aims to promote photography as a hobby and to support local photographers of all abilities.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly club that welcomes members from Tameside and neighbouring areas, regardless of their photographic skills.

The club is open to novices and experienced photographers alike, with regular monthly competitions where independent judges give constructive feedback aimed to improve both photography and post-production skills - this includes a separate section for new members to showcase their work.

Throughout the year we have talks and practical workshops on a variety of subjects - alongside trips out to places of interest in the summer months, which provide a chance to put our photography skills to use.

In addition to our regular meetings, the club also provides a monthly opportunity for members to revive, (or learn), darkroom skills of developing film and producing prints.

Whilst photography is the main aim of the club, our goal is to consolidate the social aspect by planning days and evenings out - and possibly even weekends away in the future.

Above all, we want people to enjoy their photography and make it what it should be - FUN!

 

We meet every Thursday from 7:30pm to 10:00pm at;
